Extracting Optimal Operation Rule Curves of Multi-Reservoir System Using Atom Search Optimization, Genetic Programming and Wind Driven Optimization

This research aims to apply optimization techniques using atom search (ASO), genetic programming (GP), and wind-driven (WDO) with a reservoir simulation model for searching optimal rule curves of multi-reservoir system, the objective function minimum average quantity release excess water. The system consisted five reservoirs managed by single that caused severe problems in Sakon Nakhon province, Thailand, which was hit floods 2017. These included Huai Nam Bo Reservoir, Upper Sai-1 Sai-2 Sai-3 Sai Khamin Reservoir. In this study, monthly curves, inflow during 2005–2020, water demand reservoirs, hydrological data, physical data were considered. addition, performance newly obtained evaluated comparing operation network. results showed situations shortage terms frequency, duration, water, maximum from case an 43.722 MCM/year, less than case, where 45.562 MCM/year. An analysis downstream diverts upstream performed. new ASO, GP, WDO operated as performed better when reservoir. Therefore, is suitable sustainable management without construction.
